New Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser Trailer online! (Merged)

I like the look of it and I'm a big fan of the original! It's good to see a different take on a character who can speak unlike leatherface, myers and jason. I like his voice, it's apparently like that because his lips have been burned off and so speaks the best way he can. I'm looking forward for seeing it but then I would look forward for seeing a film about paint drying if it had JEH in it :D

JEH said he was going to be playing the character very straight and more in line with the original

Saw it yesterday, absolutely hated it. It was utterly pointless, and a prime example of lazy film making. The girl who played Nancy was terrible too, i get that she was trying to play the "loner", but staring into a corner while talking in every scene was just laughable.

Don't even get me started on the plot holes...

It's biggest crime though was that it was just plan boring to watch. It only started to pick up in the last 15 minutes with the dream sequence, but by then it was too little too late. There's only one Freddy, and his name aint Rorschach.

Just a shame that it will cost you 95 minutes of your life. I went & saw this a couple hours ago & gotta say that it shouldn't have been made. It was so sh!t, that I wouldn't even download a dvdrip for free, when it gets released.

I like this film. Freddy is scarier than ever and Jackie Earle Haley does a good job playing him.

The female characters (including Nancy) don't stand out much and there's an over-reliance on jumpy moments but overall it's a decent film.

meh, iv never seen any or the original films, but i thought id gove it a go... Wasnt impressed at all!! i get scared so easily and was a bit worried tbh, but i only jumped once! the whole thing was just boring and freddie wasnt scary at all!!! the only good bit of the film was katie cassidy but i couldnt believe she was ment to be a high school student!!!! :O

Oh god this film!! Seen the orignal and that wasnt all that scary or amazing but now god compared to this one...It just seemed to drag on forever. And agree with what said the effects in the orignal are far better done compared to this one

And then you come out and want to sleep stright away lol.

I watched this the other night.

Ok its not dirt, but its not particulary good either! Robert Englund was a believably creepy and sadistic killer where the new actor looked and acted like a pedophile. I thought the kills and nightmare sequences would be better, but greenscreens and special effects cannot compete with hanRAB on. I didn't like that they gave us Freddies back story as if to justify what he became, in the original it was implied what Freddie did to the kiRAB so it gave us a chance to decided wheter to like or dislike him where in this its very much obvious. Also the character Kris being dragged across the ceiling was more vicious and sadistic in the original also she the 'Tina' character or 'Kris' in this film seems to take on most of Nancy's research early on in the film suggesting she was the lead.

Thanks for the tip-off.

I've changed my mind anyway, I don't think I'm going to bother to go see it. Might watch How To Train Your Dragon instead. SounRAB like that's actually worth watching.

I've never seen the originals so didn't have anything to compare it to. But I went in with low expectations. And they were fulfil. It was exactly what I expected it to be. A shite remake with bad acting and no scares. But in a weird way, I sorta enjoyed it. I like crap horror films, they're hilarious.

I went and saw it this afternoon and it's actually quite good and much much closer to the original. It's played straight and not for laughs. Yes there is slashing but it's not a gorefest. There are plenty of times they try to make you jump rather than just go lets slash, slash, slash and make you scream

They recreate a few of the classic scenes to pay homage to the original, but they also have plenty of new stuff in it as well.
I went in with an open mind pointing towarRAB being unimpressed but really enjoyed it.

I wasn't impressed with the remakes of The Hills Have Eyes or The Texas Chainsaw Massace but have to give this credit it is actually a good film that stanRAB up on it's own. Had the original series never have existed and this was the "original" it would be better recieved than it's bound to be.

The actor playing Freddy has signed up to make 2 but IMO they should leave it at this as it works.

I would give this based on itself and not being an remake an 8/10

I watched it last night, not scared at all and the ridiculous parts stuck out like a sore thumb. I like the horror genre and don't mind suspending reality
but that shot of adrenaline right in the middle of her chest! So irritatingly stupid, could have killed her right there

U really should watch the original, its much better and scarier,i also love crap horror lol u should check out Troll 2,the best worst movie ever made lol

Found it.

Just bumping this up to add my tuppance worth. Saw this film when released on DVD and it was worse than sh*t. By the time it got to the scene where Freddy got encyclopedic with his "After you die, the mind still works for up to seven minutes" I was in dispair, since when did Freddy have time to watch Discovery Channels and repeat such information in the most uncreepy (enclycopedic) of ways? It was comical.

And what happened to Freddy's famous cackle? I think that was the single most frightening thing about the original Freddy, his dirty cackle, and they took it away. And to top it off, they made him look like Voldermort from the Harry Potter films... lame!

Not at one point in the film was I genuinely put on edge, it never created any atmosphere or suspense, the dialogue was crap, along with the actors. I don't get why they played it as though Tina was the protagonist for the first quarter of the film and then suddenly switch to a 21st century "emo" version of Nancy (whom was diabolical). It didn't focus on a main charcter, first Tina (who played a more convincing role than the supposed main character) and then the silly duo (again, the guy alongside nany played a better role)

It was just utter pants!

i like the original and havent seen the remake. I've read the reviews and heard feedback from others that dosen't give me much intent to go and see it, but the tralor looks amazing. Then again all trailors look good.

I just watched the movie and to be honest I found it rubbish! The new Freddy isn't even scary and there were less dialogue and his face looked like it couldnt move. Its like he had one facial expression and he looked bored.

I liked seeing how he got burnt but it wasn't enough, they should've explained how he kills people in their dreams

Its not as good as the original and Robert Englund was amazing. Now this is why I absolutely hate remakes...

meh. The original was only good becuase it was made in the age of the slasher. They don't know how to do that kind of horror movie nowadays. horror movies today have evolved. taking an old horror movie like this and trying to make it work in the modern age, rarely works.
Scream was an exception becuase it was really just a big piss take. Although it did have some scary elements to it. And even that was made about 15 odd years ago now.

The old slashers are vintage, therefore, they have a certain quality to them, a certain charm that makes them scary in some ways. The remakes all seem like a bad attempt at reinventing the story. worse than the worse sequel you've ever seen.

They should just try and make their own horror movie instead of butchering the classics.

Saw the remake of Halloween, absolute shit, couldn't even watch the whole thing.
