New Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser Trailer online! (Merged)

It was utter, utter, rubbish.

Never have i seen such a debacle on the screen. I thought Jackie E-H would've at least done a good job, but no. A shameful insult to the original.

Ok, they 'fleshed' out his back story. He was a peado. We all know that. How the hell does a burnt to death peado go about killing people in their dreams? Why the glove? Perhaps answering some of these questions would've redeemed it a little. All in all a perfect example of a reason not to remake a classic. I was seriously tempted to ask for my money back.

Get knotted Platinum Dunes. Try doing something original.

I will give this a watch when it gets released next week as I got a discount voucher from Vue which neeRAB to be used in the next couple weeks.

I am a big freddy fan & own all the previous movies, so seeing how it all starts, should be worth a watch.

The Thing i didnt get was
the internet video bloG, how the hell did he post that video on the internet and why wasn't it taken down by a loved one....who they hell wrote that part, was jsut for a cheap scare...most of the writing was stupid to be honest...like sticking the injection in her rib cage

Kruger sounRAB like a village idiot in that trailer. Hope they aren't going to play the "innocent victim" card in looking at his background and upbringing making him the monster that he is.
What happened to movie monsters just being plain evil from the start!!

Watched it today and didn't think much of it. I remember going to the cinema to watch the originals 20 years ago and being scared, this one was not really that scary.

I agree with what someone else said on here about Nancy, she shouldn't have been the lead character as she was the weakest one of the lot acting wise. I would have liked to have seen the guy in the diner at the start play more of a role.

Overall an enjoyable film but I reckon they could have made it a bit longer as just over 1

It's getting terrible write ups. At 33 on metacritic, the main complaint seems to be the film can't decide who the teenage protagonist is, they're all just cannon fodder really.

is the song left in eg one two freedy gonnna get you?

I seeing it tonight.

my favourite was dream warriors:)

how many have original films have their been ilost count after wews cravens new nightmare:o

It doesn't look THAT different from the original, with a few more up-to-date sp/fx.
if its anything like the Friday 13th/Halloween remakes-it'll be awful!:(

Quite a big fan of the original, but the new trailer does nothing for me at all.

The original worked because it was scary (which you can bet your backside this won't be), and because teenage slasher flicks wern't a dime a dozen back in 1984.

If Bay really has made half of this film a straight scene for scene remake, I feel real pity for him.

Saw this movie recently,it was alright, nothing special,i still prefer the original,it gave me nightmares for weeks when i
1st saw it but i never jumped once at the remake, some scenes remain the same and some differ,i wont give any heavy spoilers though, the bodybag scene is still there,it was working well then it got a bit silly, the cgi is very cringeworthy, remember nancys wall coming to life?,looked pretty good sfx,now it looks like something from the frighteners, theres also NO scene where fred makes his glove, there were scenes in the trailer that werent even in the movie, the party scene was the biggest cut i think, didnt care much 4 nancy either shes hardly in the 1st 25mins of the movie,it focuses more on the "tina" character,Jackies performance was pretty good but i still thought the makeup looked like a dr seuss character lol its about on par with the friday 13th remake.

Well i did see this on opening day (friday) and i went in with an open mind and oooh boy it was like watching a poorly acted reconstruction of the 7 other elm street films all rolled into 1 not to mention the fact that the new Freddy looked about as scary as an afternoon spent in the night garden with Iggle piggle and upsy daisy. I thought the whole "dream" scenes where very predictable the thing i liked about the original elm street was you never knew straight away weather it was the dream or not with this one you did and it all looked way to CGI which i hate with a passion in horror films. As for the whole Freddy back story i was nearly screaming RAB kill Michael Bay now!! did these people even watch or understood Wes Cravens original concept for Freddy?? Now we get to Freddy's make up  I might be wrong but didn't the producer say it was going to be more realistic to a burn victim? because it just looked like someone had poured some candle wax on his face. Robert EnglunRAB make up in the original was far more scary looking than the new film. Not to mention Freddy had about 4 lines in the original
"this is god"
"Tina watch this"
"im ur boyfriend now nancy"
"im going to kill you slow"
In the new one he has about 20 all stolen from the other and original elm street films in short he was a lot scarier when you A didn't see him untill the end B because he didnt say much
really hope MB and PD burn in hell for what they have done A reboot !!! more like a F**KUP

They more or less took over the American film industry after Halloween made millions.I once read something like 60% of American movies produced between 79 and 81 were teen slashers. It was Elm Street with it's imaginative concept that revitalized a dying and overexposed horror genre.
