New n85 nam firmware is out!

same thing happened to me when i updated my phone. phone froze and had to take out the battery and stuff.

bballs91, sorry. I don't know how, especially when NSU doesn't have the NAM v30 up anymore. If it's up, you should be able to reflash/reinstall the NAM version if you change back to your region code.

I heard that there's another way to do a hard reset other than using the code. Something that involves pressing multiple buttons at the same time.

Anyway, anything special about the new firmware?

Well, I removed the SIM and while the *#7370# did not work, the hard reset (holding the * 3 green + power) did manage to reset. I hope Nokia honors the warranty as I have had numerous issues with my copper N85.

Has anyone attempted to go through Nokia for their warranty? Will they swap it for a black model?

lolz.. Yupz.. This happened to me also..

I sold mine on eBay and couldn't do a hard reset..

Tried the *#7370#

3 Finger Salute

and for the last resort re-install the F/W using NSU..

Still did not hard reset the phone.. Boy!! that one tough UDP!! lolz.

I had to delete my stuff manually...

This would be a good idea. But, the problems should be listed in this thread first. Once they are all listed and everyone is in agreement, then the thread gets created with one post listing the problems and it gets locked so the thread doesn't keep growing. Then we all email Nokia Corpoaration a link to the thread. They won't want to read a long thread with all kinds of postings so the one post would be best (in my opinion).

I just updated my N95-3 to v35.2.001 from v20.xxx

I don't see any difference in it.

BTW, where do I fine this flip silent deal. I can't find it anywhere.

That's why you can't see it with NSU, they haven't released v31 for that product code via NSU.
The other product code was like that till last week too. It's a mystery why Nokia continues to do this.

ok - first screw up from update. My office suite is screwed - only looks at the phone memory - doesn't allow access to the memory card. I had to delete and reinstall office suite to get it working.

Sorry to revive this old thread but I just bought a new N85 from Nokia. Love it. However I did an OTA update to 30.019 right out of the box. I believe it had the older 11.xxx version from 2008 when I checked before I did the update.

Anyway, no problems EXCEPT exactly what you described with your SIM Contacts. Over half of my SIM contacts are gone. Well not really. But if you you click on details it shows all 249 of them there. But it only displays 97 of them. I finally had to use the Switch app to transfer them from my 5800 phone memory to the N85's phone memory.

Just wondering if you had ever solved this problem. I notice that when I run the software check now 24 hours later it is telling me that 31.002 is available. I don't know why it didn't update me to the current last night and I hesitate to do that one at this point.

Anyway please let me know if you found a fix for the disappearing sim contacts.

Thanks,
Sammy
