*NEW* N73 Firmware: v3.0649.0.0.1

I have had no problems pairing this with my Pioneer DEH-P9800BT via BlueTooth. Works quite well. Well everything but the phone book transfer but I have yet to see any phone work with that.

I've been using it for a few days (regular N73). No big surprises as far as I can tell. IMAP IDLE push email seems to work somewhat better than it did before.

My N73 says there is no update available in Nokia Update Service.

So I'm hoping its still trickling down into all models.

I'm currently 2.0628.0.0.3 RM-133.

1. Hows the startup RAM

2. Use the phone for about a day, after closing all the apps, do you still have close to the same amount of RAM? That's a problem I'm having with my N73 ME, there's a memory leak somewheres.

I did the firmware update last nite. Actually, cross-graded from N73 IE w/Taiwan product code to plain N73 Euro 1. The main observation is that N73 is noticeably faster; it actually made me realize how laggy the ME firmware was.

So the ME music player is gone...don't miss it in the least. Actually prefer being able to use keys 4-5-6-8 to operate the player, which you can't do on the ME (have to use the joystick).

This is a "clean" N73 FW then, right? So it means that if someone used N73's ME firmware, and then changed product code back to N73 and updated to this latest firmware, the new Music Player is gone?

Same here. Went from the ME firmware (back) to the regular, and it's MUCH snappier, I don't have the music player automatically starting, and I noticed I have alot more ram at startup (17MB) and it seems to remain that much throughout the day. Cheers to Nokia. I may hate htem with these new announcements but I LOOOOOVE my N73

Well I think I shall give this a try too. I just got my N73 ME in the mail yesterday, set up a bunch of apps. This is my first S60 phone so this whole experience is new to me, but definatly in a good way. I had Opera / MWeather / GMail all running and the phone was still VERY responsive (blows away my 6230i, but that thing is a dog).

I tried flashing to the IE firmware and in the process bricked my phone (or so I feared). Retry, fail.... Retry, fail.... being to panic?... Retry, SUCCESS!. Main thoughts so far are that it does seem slower, going to restore all of my apps and then evaluate for a few hours.

Whats the major difference between IE and the Vanilla FW? I know that IE has more apps installed by default, no big deal there I can install anything I want on my own. I know it also has the ME's music player, I do like that seeing as how this will be semi-heavily used as an MP3 player, but I have yet to try the Vanilla's player. What about the camera? I have heard a few people claim (w/o any real proof) that the images seemed grainier on the ME compared the Vanilla FW. AFAIK there is no hardware difference, so it has to be the FW if the claims have anything to them...

Well the update to the new vanilla FW is complete and first impression is once again that it is slower than the default ME FW that came on this phone. Playing with the music player on this one I do already miss the ME one. I am going to revert to the ME firmware now and see if my thoughts on its speed are correct. It doesnt make any sense to me that the newly updated vanilla FW would be slower than the ME's.
