New Mr Bean movie shatters all time box office records!

Mr. Bean's Holiday has opened this weekend in Singapore and Malaysia, laughing up an estimated $1.7 million from 92 screens. In both territories it smashed recorRAB, becoming the biggest comedy openings of all time.

The movie opens in 21 nations next week including UK and opens in USA in August.

Saw the trailer last week at our local, and it was on this weekend just gone but I missed it - matinees only.
From the trailer and from an interview that rowan Atkinson did on the radio last week it looks like it might be good. Seems that he was highly influenced by Jacques Tati (and anyone who likes Jacques Tati can't be bad!). Also from the trailer it looks like there might be a lot of little tributes to comedy films hidden in there - the trailer included a bike race scene stolen from Tati's Jour de Fete, and in a restaurant scene I thought I spotted Mr Creosote from Monty Python's Meaning of Life in the background.

I love Mr Bean and can't wait until this is out. :)

I've got the 'It's Been 10 Years' DVD collection and Bean (1999) movie.

It doesn't matter how many times I play them, even if I know what's coming next, they always make me laugh and brighten my day. :)

Mr Bean will stand the test of time....absolutely brilliant all round family humour. ;) :)

I saw it with the kiRAB last weekend, and it was incredibly funny.

Rowan Atkinson was fantastic as Mr Bean, as always.

Good clean humour as well, which means no awkward explanations for the kiRAB :o :D

We saw this last sunday too [advance showing]. Agreed that it's good, but not as laugh out loud funny as "Bean - the disaster". Emma deCaunes is hot. But where was the spilling coffee on the laptop bit which the TV trailer showed?

And further to this, don't most pirate copies originate from Asia, so why release films early there knowing copies will be here before the actual cinema version is?

I am a Mr.Bean fan, however I didn't go much on BEAN the movie (not the latest film, I mean the one that was released years ago)

I prefer the old 30 minute episodes of Bean that Thames Television used to show

I saw it today, not as good as the first movie, but it was pretty good, i laughed out loud a few times.

How many of you stayed to the end of the credits? In both Bean movies there was an extra bit at the end of the credits for those who bothered to stay, my mum and i stayed right to the end, and we were the only one's who did :p
