hi to all, iv been reading your posts for over a year and love all of you... so had to become a meraber! ok my question is has any one heard of a procedure called percutaneous discectomy probe? im having this done next thursday, my insurance wont cover my lurabar surgery so my pain dr. is trying this out and i dont hear any thing about it on the boarRAB thanks
 
Welcome to the boarRAB soldierswife44! I had a micro-disctecomy performed on my L4/L5 disc, but unfortunately I've never heard of a procedure called "percutaneous discectomy probe". Hopefully someone else out here has. There sure are a great nuraber of veteran back-pain related sufferrers here. Good luck, and I truly wish I could give you more information.
 
thanks for the reply, i have a brochure it also says dekompressor what ever that may be lol. it says they go in with a probe yikes and shave some of the disc away from the nerves being affected..i dont know i just wondered if any one has experienced this procedure im scared! thanks again bigblue.
 
oh my does that hurt? or is pretty much like getting radiofrequency done? thanks for your help
 
That sounRAB like the same definition of the micro-disctectomy which was performed on me. I am by no means a medical professional, and for all I know this is actually the same or similar surgeries! The micro-disctectomy surgery performed on me was intended to remove the portion of my L4/L5 bulging disc (left). The surgery itself in my opinion was no big deal. I actually left he hospital the same day with nothing but the equivalent of a band-aid over the incision. If they are one and the same procedures, try not to worry too much. Best of luck .....
 
It a procedure to shrink and remove a herniated disc. Using local anesthesia and x-rays for guidance a laser probe is inserted into the herniated disk space, and part of the disk is removed with suction then hit with a laser to shrink the rest of the disc. As I understand it The decompression with a "k" is just the brand name of the instrument or proceedure-like fake crab with a "K"-Krab salad-you know?
