Ok i just got two kicker CVR 10's and when i run them they start to smell. someone told me that it is excess glue on the voice coil and the the smell will go away. I don't blast them all the way up and they are not distorting. so is it any thing to worry about?
I have them on a Hifonics - BXI 1610D. the subs are 4 ohms dual voice coil i got the briged on the amp.
It takes a while before i start to smell it but the subs are not hot.
This is how i wired them up to my amp.
I wired it down to 1 ohm load.

The amp is stable at 1 ohm and the amp is only 1600 watts and the subs are rated for 800 watts apice so i just got an amp that is close to that . Like i said i dont turn it all the way up and i dont use the bass boost. and the smell is not that strong you can only spell it by the port on the box
