New Inspector Gadget

Hello folks

Has anyone gotten a chance to read the latest Animation Magazine? There is an article that focuses on Inspector Gadget and reveals some awesome new scans of the new cartoon series.
I have not been able to find any other info on it though, I just know it's a new show post Gadget and the Gadgetinis

Oh no...not ANOTHER revival. They really need to just let Gadget "go go" already. Here's a thought - how about instead of constantly hitting us over the head with these lackluster REMAKES, just put the entire original series on freakin' DVD already! Sorry, call me a purist or whatever, but if Don Adams (who passed away a couple years ago) ain't in it, I ain't watching it.

I wouldnt mind a revival if it were as good or better than the original. HOWEVER - everything that they have come out with associated with Gadget since the original 80's series has been utterly and mind-blowingly terrible. (It's almost as if you have to try to be that bad - live action movies included)

One can hope and dream, but - given DiC's constant track record and the fact that they are NOTHING like they were in the 80's - pretty much all the love they could have ever had is long past gone.

The only other Gadget series I've watched besides the original was Gadget Boy, and I thought that was pretty cool. I've never seen any of the other series cause I don't think they've ever aired here in the states. I haven't even seen the recent Mainframe DTV movie either, even though I've been meaning to.

Still this could be interesting.

Is there a link to this online somewhere?

I saw the CGI special after downloading it from Amazon unbox. It wasn't all that bad. They did Claw right this time with a pretty good Frank Welker impersonation (Except when Claw tried to do any other emotion other than his normal 'angry' voice you could tell it wasn't welker)..

I'll give it a shot, at least until someone can post an online article with omre info. But please, bring back Welker as Claw :)

If they are going to do a new Inspector Gadget, maybe Steve Carell can voice him? LOL

Anyway the old show should be released on DVD, I don't know if they could ever replace Don Adams, which also means they should not remade Tenn. Tuxedo.

On the bright side, the voices of the other principal characters are still strong presence in the voice over business.

Hey, I think Maurice LaMarche is a pretty good Gadget imitator. And to be fair, I think he took over as Gadget's voice even before Adams' death.

awww man you've got to be kidding me.

seriously whats with this sudden surge of reviving old school cartoons?

first it's tranformers (even though that one took me by surprise), then it's the new speedracer cartoon? now gadget and stated earlier thundercats!? (nvm it's gonna be a movie)

I mean I was honestly never a fan of these shows... but has the animation industry run out of ideas?

As much as I liked the original Inspector Gadget cartoon show, I thought the original Get Smart was better. That is just my opinion. The weird secret devices, and the parody of secret agentcy jokes were more clever, and the villains were more interesting and had more variety.

Funny thing about that: Jean Chalopin (the original creator) based Gadget off of Inspector Clouseau, not Maxwell Smart. In the series pilot, Gadget even sported a Clouseau-like mustache.
