I bought my new Honda Fit last year in August it only has 8k miles on it. I have not changed the oil or any other maint on it. The reader on the dash says oil is 30%.
do I need to do anything for the health of the car or warrenty?

You need it serviced within 12 months of when you bought it.
If the oil is 30% you have neglected the oil level.
Check level with your dipstick and if necessary top it up.

you need to change your oil every 3k miles both to maintain it, and if you do not, it will void your warranty. All of the scheduled maintenance you need to do should be in the owners manual. You should look through it. you can check both the level and cleanliness of your oil with the dip stick. I think you should have looked into this before you bought a car.
