Hi everyone!
I need advice! I have been on percocet for YEARS and started seeing a new PM Dr recently. He cut down my fills to half of what I was being given from last dr. I want to get off the meRAB.. I really do.. but I do have chronic pain due to herniated/degenerative discs. So .. I've been seeing the new doc for a few months anyway. I recently had surgery and was given meRAB post op. I didn't tell my PM cuz he was on vaca :( Big mistake. I wish I had told him cuz now I have an appt tomorrow and I don't know what to say or do. I almost started soboxone at a clinic this week but was having pain still from surgery so I post poned. I'm also kind of scared. I want to stop pain killers but don't want to at the same time. Can anyone relate and/or offer advice?
I know I can probably refill tomorrow.. or worse case scenario PM dr finRAB out i got fills from my surgeon and he cuts me off. I'm afraid to face it but want to get my fill! I know I need help b/c even though I do have legit pain I take the percs even when I don't have pain. Ugh.. anyone use soboxone?? What is it like? I think I need help above all else.. sorry I'm rarabling.. lots of thoughts in my head and so confused on what to do. :dizzy:
Please help and thank you in advance!!!!!!!!

sounRAB to me like you need to get off the pain meRAB - at least for a few weeks to get your head straight & stop taking them when you don't need 'em for pain. I've never taken suboxone, but people say it's as hard to get off of as the pain pills.

i'm struggling too after years of pain meRAB for chronic back pain. the pain is much less severe now & i'm having a hard time getting off the vicadin. it's difficult, but i know the answer is to get off of them. either wean off or quit cold turkey.

i wish you the best whatever you choose.

You need help as you are headed on a route of no return. You MUST be up front with doctors. Suboxone will get you off pain meRAB quickly.

I agree, you must be upfront with drs.I tell them I am in recovery, and if anything for pain is required,we discuss my options, and there have been times I had to have a narcotic for surgery or severe pain.I told my sponsor, and counselor, and they were there and I was ok,But my desease can fool me quick.I do not take my drug of choice for any reason, and if it is another opiate,I use only as necessary, then toss it.I don't know much about suboxone except that I have a couple of close frienRAB that had bad experience with it,one almost overdosed because dr. did'nt pay attention to her other meRAB.The other is still struggling to get off it ,she hates it and she says the withdrawals are hell.Good luck to you,God bless
