New here need a couple pointers for T5 and Zire 72

Okay I got a T5 and a Zire 72. I have downloaded TCPMP and was told to also grab Pocket Tunes.

One of these units will go to my wife, of the 2 which would be the better one to keep for myself. I am pretty techy, but never owned a PDA. I will catch on fast , is the T5 better for multimedia since it has a bigger screen.

Both of us will use these for activitier/appointments/contacts/tunes and I would like to play around with divx movies. I see the T5 is faster looking for any tips and recommendations on software. In know these may not be the newest units but still think I did pretty good for what I paid for each with all original stuff

If you are basing your decision on better multimedia, I'd keep the T5. It has a faster processor (416mgh compared to 312 for the zire). You have more memory all around. The screen is 480x320, zire is 320x320. The t5 has a virtual graffitti area, so you can hide it when you want. You can view the entire screen in landscape mode.

Plus, you can use the File Transfer capabilities on the t5 to transfer larger files. The t5 can be read on your PC and others as an external memory device (like a flash drive). Thus, you can transfer files, via usb, from home pc to office pc etc. This is possible by using Drive Mode on the t5

The only thing the zire has over the t5 is camera (not that great) and voice recorder.

I'd keep the t5. But that's just my opinion.
 
thanks for the info, I am kinda leaning that way, the screen size being the biggest factor and ability to hide the graffitti area. I also like the drive mode feature.

I appreciate the feedback as I am completely new to pda's, looks as though the zire 72 will go to my wife. I do not have the 72 yet but are the screen colours comparable? Is one better than the other for those who may have played with both?

Last question, can you set up the palm software on one desktopbut sync 2 separate pda's, is this possible, can 2 separate users be configured in the palm software so when you hot sync you choose your id?

Also I noticed while listneing to music and attempting to browse or use other features of my T5 that there is interruption in the music playing as I access other applications. Is this normal if not is there a way to bypass this, am I doing something wrong. Also how does one go about moving files stored on the internal memory to an installed SD card, can this be done within the unit?

Appreciate your patience and time taken to read this and reply to a noob who will soon have it all figured out, lol

Open Palm Desktop on your PC. On the Menu Bar, click Tools. 2nd item down in the dropdown menu is Users... Click that to bring up the Users window. Click the New button and enter the name of the 2nd user. Then click OK twice to get back to the Desktop. Close the desktop. Sync your 2nd Palm and a window will pop up asking which user you want to associate with that 2nd unit. Select the name and proceed with the sync. That's all there is to it. Future syncs will recognize each individual Palm.
