Hello everyone, I am new here... so I hope I'm posting in the right forum... if not forgive me.

So I'm a 24 yr old female.. I've been diagnosed with depression/panic/anxiety disorder.. I was put on the paxil... and that had me hallucinating to the max!!! so my doc switched me to lexapro...

Ok this is my third day on lexapro and so far I have no appetite... the slight hallucinations.. but i do get increasd anxiety only at night time though... I take it at 3pm everyday.. I feel groggy... dont want to go anywhere... then when night time comes I cant sleep because of the hallucinations and the increased anxiety i get ...

and now I'm noticing my [excuse me for being so raw..] urine is a darker shade of yellow... and my fecies is now this lime green colour... i dont want to stop taking them but I am getting a lilttle shaky about this.. is this normal???? I reallly need to know because its making me worry more

I'm sorry you are going through the changing medication blues...the adjustment period is difficult. I hope my experience will help you a little.

I am not sure what dosage you started at, often 10 mg. Typically it takes 3-4 weeks to get the thereputic level into your blooRABtream. If your doctor feels you need a higher dosage, he/she will do it a little at a time.

I have been taking 20 mg, for 5 years, with no ill effects. I can't speak to the halllucinations, or the urine changes...

I encourage you to be patient with your body while it adjusts to the new medication, most of the side effects will fade within a few weeks.
 
thank you for responding, and Yes my starting dosage is 10mg once a day. I'm also taking Xanax twice a day with it.. so I take the Xanax 0.5 in the morning then I take the Lexapro at 3pm then at night like around 8pm my dosage goes up on the Xanax to 0.75 per my doctor.

I just cant wait to get pass this first stage... and the fecies colouring is what gat me a bit mind boggled

I have taken Lexapro for about 9 months now, it's been ok for me. But
like you it also makes me groggy and tired. So I take it at night 10mg.
My appitite has increased. But no change in my urine or bowels.

What I don't understad with all of thess SSRI's is that they are suppose to
raise your engery and feeling of well being. But with all the ones I have taken
including Lexapro. They seem to be more sedative.

Thats what I thought too, once you passed the initial stages... sighs... Thank you! if this urine and bowel movement colour keeps.. up I think I'll have to take a trip to the hospital I guess
