1999 Dodge Ram ext cab w/o infinity system
OK well i just bought a aftermarket radio. and after i hook it up, we get no sound out of any speaker. It powers on, and will accept a CD.
So we pulled a door speaker out, and with some spare wire, we hooked up to our soder joints from the NEW head unit wiring to the new wiring harness that plugs into the OEM.
And the speaker played. We tested it with each speaker. RR, LR, FR, FL. And they all worked.
So we then hooked it up to the back of the OEM harness and to the speaker and it played then.
I know it cannt be any of the wiring behind the dash or nothing. Because it works fine with the factory Radio.
The only wiring we dont have plugged in are the ILL, and the PARK. Because there isnt a wire on the HU for those.
And no there is no external amp hooked up yet.
So that doesnt play into it.
Any suggestions on why it pushes power on 16 inches of speaker cable and not 16 feet?
