New fish sitting on bottom of tank?

I just got two Silver Dollar fish today when I took them home in the bag they give you at the store they seemed to be fine moving around. I let the bag sit in the aquarium water for about 10 minutes before I let them out. But as soon as I scooped them up with a net and let them free they both went to the back of the tank and hit behind the ornaments. I tried moving them around a little bit to see if they were still alive them seem to be but they just stay there and don't move. So I got scared that I might have thrown them into shock and I turned off the light for about 1 hour and when I turned the light back on they just seem to be laying in odd positions not moving. (One is lodged between some plants and the other is leaning against a ship not even moving from the last time I checked on them) PLEASE somebody help! Everything in the water seems to be ideal according to the water test strips things and the water temp is at around 75-80.

when you go to buy a fish you should always ask how long should you leave it in the water before putting the fish in......at my local pet store they tell me to leave it in for min before putting the fish in...because the water needs to level the same ....my fish comes out to be just fine....

my friend had gave me some fish for my b-day...i set it for 10 min and the fish went up the water then next thing i knew it was dead...

I am sorry to tell you this but your fish is dead. You left the fish in the bag to long they so when you put the fishes in the tank they were already dieing. I never buy the dollar fishes they seem like a good deal a fish for a dollar but the reson they are so cheap is because they die right away so dont be sad your not a bad owner.

The plastic testing strips aren't great as they're not as accurate as the liquid ones. Silver dollars are quite sensitive to water quality and therefore will be affected by even 0.25ppm of ammonia or less - same with nitrites. I recommend performing a partial water change just to be safe and get the liquid water testers ASAP.

Ten minutes in a bag is not enough. The bare minimum they should be in the bag for the pet store is around 15 minutes, and to avoid further shock or stress, you should be pouring a few half cups into the bag from the tank to get them used to the water from their new home, leaving them in the bag for the same amount of time and doing that two or three more times. It's also best to let them swim out on their own instead of net them.

When introducing fish, the tank lights should always be off, and kept off for the first day. I recommend that you keep them off until they're swimming around normally again. Silver dollars are also schooling fish that thrive when kept in schools of at least six, they're probably stressed from that, not to mention the new environment.
