New fish, lost front fin, just hole left?

Hey there, bit traumatised but here goes.

Bought a new fish today (don't know the breed sorry but its a silver fish with gold and black patches), and came home from work and it has lost one of its front fins (the ones by its gills). As in completely lost it, there's no stub left, just a hole where it used to be, which is pinkish. What on earth has happened to this fish!

I've been watching and there doesn't seem to be any aggressive behaviour by any of the fish and there's no blood and i can't see the fin anywhere. Could someone please help, really don't know whats happened
 
well if u have a filter it could've gotten caught onto it. do your other fish have any stratches because they could've gotten in a fight and are just scared of eachother now lol
 
My fish eat eachother sometimes. One had it's tail fin eaten off. Fish sometimes will fight eachother, and the probably did fight when you where gone. All I can say is either get a bigger tank, or remove some fish.
