New Every Two with Verizon

Hi everyone. I'm new here and have been reading some reviews.

I'm due for my new every two with Verizon. I have been using a V9M. Good phone but even with software updates it's getting slow and I'm on my second battery already.

I would like some opinions on which phones people would recommend. I like clamshell phones, no need for web browsing or email. I store pics internally, but would get a memory card if necessary. I talk and text a bit, maybe 20-50 a day. I'm not concerned with battery life. Also on the weekends I keep the phone in my pocket, and during the week leave it in a leather case, so it can't be too cumbersome.

I have rather large hands and have used my wife's Chocolate3 and find the arrows next to the menu wheel sometimes hard to use.
Also I have read the reviews here and see the phone is prone to freezing and dropping calls, but the sound quality is good. Also I have a hard time flipping it open with one hand and getting the cover off of the charging port. I do like the size of the external screen, but not the fact that you have to unlock it all of the time.

I'm also considering the Motorola Rapture. There aren't many reviews here about it. I did see one bad one. A few of the reviews stated that the user had large hands also and it wasn't a problem with this model. I've had Motorola's for the last ten years and have good luck with them all except for the Razr. I had six of them in five months.

I'm mostly concerned with sound quality, reception and a reasonable speed. At least as fast as my V9M.

I'm open to any other suggestions, not just these two phones.

Thank you.

Thread title changed for better exposure as well.

To the OP, take a look at the Motorola Adventure V750, assuming that VZW will allow you to activate it without using PTT. Another good phone, despite have a touch screen, is the Krave.

The V750 is OK. VZW will let you activate it with out the PTT. As much as I've tried, I can't get used to the touch screen on the Krave. But I'm not totally against it. Also I think the acrylic cover would get scratched up pretty quick.

Thank you for taking the time to respond

I, personally, would get away from Motorola phones. I have heard nothing but bad things about them lately and I had the KRZR k1m before the phone I have now. I liked the KRZR at first, but after 5 batteries and 2 KRZR's in 20 months, I would not buy another Motorola again. I have had the LG env2 for a little over 6 months now and it has been great. It has long battery life, great for texting and very good sound quality. My bluetooth headset paired to it very easily. A friend of mine checked out many of the phones Verizon offered and settled on the LG env2.

Actually after talking to a trusted sales rep I am going to stay away from Motorola. Now it's a toss up between the Nokia 6205 and the LG 8360. Not sure which one yet but will probably make up my mind tomorrow.

The Chocolate 3 in black is a long shot. There's still some features that I'm not crazy about on it.
