you're old enough. You'll have to race against 450s, but if you're good - it shouldn't make a huge difference. Racing is 75% rider, 25% bike.
 
okay so my dad got me a good condition 2001 yamaha YZ426 for my birthday..(first dirt bike!) I was wondering if i could get into racing with this dirt bike??
My friends say that they never heard of a 426cc race bike and it may not be able to race???

and I'm 13 years old am i old enough to race???

i can ride it good i need to work on some things though like jumps.. haven't tried those yet
 
well 13 is old enough to race. i have never heard of a 426cc race bike either, so i'm not too sure about racing on it. i say ride it around a little and see if it is comfortable and if it can handle some jumps. if it feels good, i think racing on it would be fine
