New Channel Lineup Coming?

C44, I think channels 1-48 are used for OTA digital, if you live in Toronto, Vancouver, etc.
 
I had on-demand for a long time with my former cable provider in the states. In my opinion it is something that seems better than it actually is. If you have a PVR it is basically a waste of time, if you don't have a PVR the type of shows that are on it are the same type that get repeated over and over on TV anyway. Not that big of a loss, but that is just my personal opinion.
 
im pretty sure echostar (dish) make the firmware for bell boxes but the software is modified for belltv service

what happened to it that it was a failiure?
 
Changes in lineup would be about the removal of Xtreme sports ch and 2-3 channels from the Movie central and adding the HBO channels...
 
I have a 9200. I don't have anything listed going into the 1000's. Am I missing something or maybe it is only the the 6100's?
 
Actually how I read it was that whatever channel the SD channel is on, the HD version will be on 1XXX. So for TSN, SD will be 400 and HD would be 1400.

Actually, I'd rather not have the auto tune. There are times I want to watch the SD version like if I am recording something un-important and want to save space, or if I'm watching my 9242 on one of my SDTVs.

have you notice the channel 325? it is superchannel interactive. all the new movies are there and if you do not want to search in your guide just go there and than click on your movie that you want to watch and on the right side you can click on record, etc...

i wish they do that with most of the stations.
 
it is because of hbo canada, it will be on 300's. 306 and 307 will be hbo 1 and hbo 2.
 
This change is making a mess of the EPG right now. No program info past 1 hour. There's a thread in the PVR group.

But it hopefully opens the door for:
1500 CNNHD
1417 SPEEDHD
:)

Oh, and the info channel says they will clone the HD channels, so the 800's will still be available thru "late 2009".

Really? Do you have a 9242 PVR or some other receiver? How many movies can you watch? Are they in HD? These are free with SuperChannel, right?
 
no channels in the 1000's on my 9200 but still have all my programming and no issues with EPG
 
I agree. I tape unimportant shows in SD if my drive is relatively full. I also never record the 4:3 programs on HD channels either as I don't find the quality to be all that good and it takes up 7 times as much room. I wouldn't want them to auto tune either.

I also agree that video on demand is somewhat of a waste if you have a PVR, only advantage is if you missed a timer for some reason (forgot to set it, satellite was down for weather, etc..) Either way, not a big deal IMO. Correct me if I am wrong but TMN is the only package other than PPV with on-demand service on Rogers? In that case all the TMN shows are replayed several times throughout the week so missing the timer is not an issue.

I am glad to see HBO being included with TMN. It kind of sucks in the states that you have to subscribe to HBO and Showtime to get all the shows in the TMN package. I really hope they start to replay some older HBO shows that I missed or haven't seen in a while (The Wire, 6 Feet Under), they are replaying Oz so that's a good start.
 
Nope, there is a lot more to On Demand at Rogers than TMN. There are dedicated services like Treehouse On Demand (free, for kids), MTV On Demand (free, for teens), NFL Network On Demand (free, for adults), Karaoke On Demand (free, to annoy your neighbours). There are several subscription services like WWE/24 On Demand and here! On Demand for niche audiences; and tons of material -- mostly movies -- on a pay-per-day basis.

There are even channels like Food, HGTV and National Geographic as discrete On Demand channels free with the SD versions.

The best part is there is a growing amount of HD On Demand, both free, and pay-per-day. Mad Men, Season Two, for example, is available free -- in SD and HD.

Anyway, since you asked ...
 
you cannot watch the movie. it is an easier way to see whats on the superchannel. its not on demand. do not be confuse. its more like a tv guide but just for superchannel.
