Is Moviepix HD going to be included for HD package subscribers? Or do I have to get movie package as well (TMN, Movie Network etc....)

You will need to subscribe to TMN. When you subscribe to TMN, you will get TMN-HD and M-HD, once BEV carry it. At least that's the way it works on Rogers.

It's not there because Bev and Movie Network are still settling some sort of agreement about it (I have no idea what). It will be here by the end of the month.

Only rogers has it. I consider myself lucky if I get it this month. Some companies may not get it for a lot longer than that.

This is what my Astral source told me...

In order to get MHD (Mpix and Mescape titles), you will need to be a sub to the SD Mpix service in some way shape or form.

1) If you are a "Movies Package" sub that includes TMN+Mpix+Supers with either BEV or Rogers (or any service provider that chooses to launch MHD moving forward), you will automatically get MHD at no incremental charge, just like you automatically get TMNHD at no incremental charge.

2) If you subscribe to Mpix as a standalone service from BEV/Rogers (+ others down the road), you will automatically get MHD at no incremental charge.

However, if you only sub to TMN as a standalone and don't sub to Mpix, you won't get MHD, but you will still get TMNHD.

Remember, this is Bell we're talking about, I would put a larger bet on it NEVER showing up, than it showing up really soon....

...or see the Digital Home FAQ on "Acronyms and Definitions".

Also, use the "post reply" button instead of "quote" when the quote is not necessary for your post.

I didn't realize it was possible to sub to TMN only. I do recall some threads on the subject a while back, so I may be mistaken.

I know what you mean...but I know I did see this channel for an afternoon with no programming just probably a test for the channel. So I know it's coming....I would think rather soon...

This is intersesting because I was losing channels on my 9200 so after talking to bell they "reauthorized " my channels. Afterwards I had this mescape hd channel and it was broadcasting but was gone the next day. . .

Just a thought..

Does Bell ever set up special services for special clients, like Airlines or Hotels or Bars so they can offer their customers something special?

The special services I'm asking about would be outside their offering to the masses but available to big customers willing to pay a premium. Or something that Bell could use as a sort of exclusive offering to attract this type of business.

Perhaps these brief glimpses of other channels can be explained this way?

Phantom channels with the -HD suffix have appeared when scanning ExpressVu many times. I've seen stuff like MFEST-HD some years ago. None of these ever became real channels, let alone high-def. The only difference this time is that as a result of a glitch one of those channels appeared in the "official" guide for a short period of time, and more people saw it. I'm afraid all your hopes are in vain, there won't be another HD movie service coming soon.

I notice a couple of other forums including AVS are indicating a January 9 launch date.

The January edition of Movie Entertainment magazine is out and indicates a good number of movies will be broadcast in HD on both Mpix and Mescape.
