i bought a road bike last Sunday. The fenders they installed, were poorly aligned resulting in the front one braking. I went back to the shop and they fixed it. Everything seemed fine. I get home and notice resistance on the front tire again. I'm not to savvy with bikes yet but this is what happened.
I removed the front tire, the fender was misaligned, i fixed that with tools. But when i placed the tire back on, the front brake pads were shifted to one side, so one pad was very close and one was far away. At the time i didn't know i could just swivel the brake along the bike frame. What i did instead was try to push in the pad, and while i was forcing this (which i know is stupid.. i guess now) the pads caved in and did not spring back. I noticed the brake wire slipped through a point, and thought adjusting and retightening this would fix it. So now the brake pads are somewhat caved in, they used to open wider for the tire quick release thing. I can part the pads and the tire can squeeze through, but its too tight, and when i fasten the quick release, the pads tighten and clamp around the rim. Also without the tire in place, when i try gently squeeze the pads together they cave in and don't spring, or resist back to their original position.
Sorry this is long, i don't know how to explain it and simpler.
I have Single pivot side-pull calliper brakes
