they just changed some of the non-promo pricing

$25 get 1 mb not 0.5 anymore
$40 get 7 mb not 1 anymore.

but the $5 double data on the $60 for 25 mb up to $65 for 50 mb in gone im pretty sure.

wow, seeing how i ordered my curve today you'd think they would have mentioned that to me lol,but the $40 for 7MB is ALMOST reasonable, it's a step, but not a BIG one as of now the $64 for 50MB is still listed.

Totally loving the new BB data plans with Rogers ... getting better ... all we need now is 39.99 unlimited like everwhere in the US

No, they had a deal, for $5 more, you could double your data to 50mb's. I don't think that is on anymore. But apparently it was still listed a couple days ago, so if you call to customer service data department, they might still be able to do it for you.

You're right Josh! Thanks for the advice, I added the plan! Unfortunately, the only way about go doing that is by renewing my contract. Only available as a 3 years contract.

Oh well, not like I have much choice. I've been a Rogers customer for ages :/

For a regular consumer, would this 5mb add on for $5 for mainly email work?

Or is this just for downloading stuff from the rogers page? Its part of some new value pack?

The deal was that on the $40 and $60 data plans, you can add $5 to double your data. Its now gone on the $40 AFAIK because the $40 has jumped to 7mb from 1mb. But on the $60/25MB you can still add $5 and double your data. Go to your nearest Rogers store or call 1-866-931-DATA.

That's for WAP browsing. It won't work on a BB. In fact our systems won't even allow us to put it on an account with a BB on it. Unless you're willing to lose all youe BB data functions (email, PIN, html browser) and just have WAP, it won't help ya.

Rogers has the worst plans for BlackBerry in Canada because they have a handset advantage in that they have the latest devices. If you guys check out the plans at Telus and I think even Bell, you'll see that they're a bit more generous. I would love to get the Curve from Rogers but I don't wanna give up my Bell plan... I'm currently on a grandfathered Bell plan that comes out to 86 bucks a month after all fees and taxes and includes unlimited data, 200 minutes, unlimited evenings/weekends, caller ID etc. I guess I have to wait until the Curve comes to cdma carriers in 2008

Agreed it is just for wap browsing but I dont really miss the BB data anyways, rogers gives you the wap browser, I use gmail for my emails which is downloadable for BB and all other IM clients work on the $10 10MB data package anyways, as for your statement abt not being able to add it on, ya..not so much I have it on my account with my curve.

It's funny Rim is a Canuck company; Blackberrys were created in Canada by Canadians... & yet, we get the sh!tty end of the stick when it comes to bill time.... sigh
