Hey I am a new author, and have several major stories I am working on. I wanted to put a few on here, to see how the normal audience might react. Here is something I just came up with a few seconds ago, just to test you.
Addie wasn't alone and she knew it.
She turned back again for about the thousandth time to make sure no one was behind her and stole into an alley way. Her nerves were high strung, and she rubbed her shoulders, moving them back and forth. She was still a little sore from the fight with Sam, and her neck was killing her.
She sat down on the wooden box that was there, beside the garbage dumps, and rested her head on her knees. It was going to be a long night.
Suddenly, she jerked her head up, her eyes flaring. The sound, so familiar in her line of work, light quick footsteps, the footsteps of someone in a hurry.
She cursed, standing up. She was early, she knew she should have left later. Sylvia always hated when she was early, then the steps stopped.
She turned, looking straight down the alleyway, but to her dismay, she saw someone she wasn't expecting, Sam.
He looked handsome as always, as he shouldn't, but somehow always did. His dark brown hair was long and shaggy, rarely cut, his eyes a burning hazel, and lips that took on their usual scowl.
He grimaced at her, and she made a tight smile. "Sam. How nice of you to join us..." She said in sarcastic tones.
He began to smile, almost hysterically. "Us?" He questioned, gesturing about. "There is no us, only you, alone in a alley with me the person you hate and despise to you fullest content." He smiled now, sarcastically.
"You vermin." She began, but he interrupted her. "You know what I want." He said, and smiled devilishly. "And it is something you will not get." She said simply, and he scowled. She tucked the ring on her hand into her coat pocket, a long floor length coat with many many pocket indeed. This one was hidden though, behind another pocket only she knew where. She smiled sourly at him. She knew there would be another fight, but she refused to give in.
He took three steps forward, slowly stretching his long, catlike legs. He was almost within touching distance, she took a step back.
"Are you afraid of me? Is the great Adeline Freeman, princess of spying, daughter of the great Julianne herself, afraid of poor thieving prince Sam." He spit the words out at her, and she took one step forward.
"I am not afraid of you, filthy vermin. I wipe my hands with your clothes, and clean your blood off my weapons. Your men are no concern of mine, much less to be feared." She made a mockery of a smile.
"Oh dear poorest Sam, did you think you could win? With your clever sneaking and spying, did you think you could actually kill me?" She began to laugh, simply just laughing, and Sam leaped, slapping her across her pale, red cheeked face.
She immediately stopped, and growled at him. he smiled, and she punched him cleanly, right in the center of his chest, between the ribs, and she pushed up. He gasped, losing his breath, and fell to the ground.
She smiled to herself as he came back up fast. He looked mad, very mad. She smiled, then heard a gasp from behind him.
Sylvia was here.
She dropped her bag, and ran up to them. "What the...why are you here Samantha?" Sylvia made a mocking smile, and slapped him on the back. "Did my little ducky hurt the big bad wolf?" Sam growled.
"Oh poor honey, now I really think you should leave and stop harassing my little sister." Sylvia grimaced at him, with all of her power, but that wasn't all.
Though her stern gaze, and status as a spy might have scared the heck out of him, she was also swinging a grappling hook by her pinky finger off a rope which might have been pretty intimidating.
He growled at her, then bowed, giving me a dirty smile, even though he seemed relatively clean, he was still the thieving prince, the prince of the beggars. He ruled them, as you might say.
Then he took me by surprise, he leaned in to me closely, his face next to mine, his lips at my ear. "We want an alliance, a binding ceremony, to end this...war. I have been asking you, over and over. I don't want another fight with you. Please, we need your help some thing has been attacking our people, and we need you help. You know where to find me."
He then, put something in her pocket, a front one, and she knew he was smiling. He then leaned in closer, and She was just about to push him off me, when he kissed my forehead.
She grimaced, and stepped back, filthy thief. He smiled, and she reached forward, and slapped him again. "What's wrong with you?! We are enemies. Keep your head straight, unless you want this to end bloody." She made a cruel smile, and he frowned.
"We need you...please don't be harsh...goodbye Adeline." He said, and turned around to run out the alley way.
"My name is Addie!" She yelled after him, but a
