Good evening, everyone...I hope everyone is enjoying a "pain-free" Monday! I had to re-schedule my lurabar E.S.I. follow-up appointment because of severe pain and oversleeping. If I cannot devote at least 12 hours of sleep after taking a Flexeril, then I cannot take it! I took only 1/2 of a Flexeril and still had the same side effects, such as feeling like a "zorabie" the following day. I know the injections are only going to cause adverse side effects and provide no relief, so I am going to just cancel that follow-up appointment and visit my regular physician in March. Her nurse called this morning and set me up an appointment with a "hand and wrist" specialist, which the earliest will be April 14th at 10:00 am. I have to be very "picky" with the nuraber of appointments I use because I only get 12 visits (including specialists) a fiscal year. I have already used 6 this year! How is everyone feeling today? I am thankful that it is sunny and slightly warm outside today...although I cannot even get out of bed yet, due to severe pain!

After this post, I called my physician's office and made a 2 month follow-up appointment with my doctor. I knew that she wanted me to come back 2 months after my last appointment, which was on January 22nd. I made this appointment for March 21st. I will be sure to keep everyone updated about my condition!

Hey Tam. I was wondering whether or not you have tried other muscle relaxers and what/if any results did any of them bring you?

If you are looking for that strong of an effect, then flexeril is the right one for you, but if you are looking for something that will do a decent job but not put you out for the 12 hour count.. maybe it's time to try something else.

I get tired on the flexeril, but it does nothing for me. But something less potent or just different makeup called Skelaxin.. works like charm for me. It loosens me up, takes the edge off some, but keeps my brain clear.

Maybe something new might help you get a better balance for you, "if" that is something you want.

Some want to be "knocked out". Some days I need that myself, but sleeping has never been an issue with me. I'm just one of those that has never needed much sleep before the surgery. Now after, I now need 6-7 hours pretty regularly or I get pretty wiped out.

I dont know if your ESI's were intended to be done in a series, but if you stretch out the ESI for too long, it renders the "series" void, from giving you a build up effect process.

Just wanted to pop-in and throw my two cents in. Take care and have a great day. Tam

I agree with Tammy. Personally, I can't take flexeril unless I have 24 hours of sleeping available. LOL It knocks me off my feet.

I have used: Soma - it knocks me out too. It is a great bedtime med but I can function the next morning just fine.

I also use robaxin and that is lessor sedating of the three relaxants to me. There are two dosages available for this and I take the lesser dose so I can function. I believe it is 325 mg.

Good luck.
