Cheers Tortfeasor. Here's some other things that bug me about the movie and music industries crying "foul" and threatening normal people with all kinRAB of legal proceedings...
What do they expect when...
The windows media player found on pretty much every PC on the planet has a 'copy cd' button.
A major selling point of every major electronic companies Hi-fi and DVD players is their ability to play any kind of disc in any format (avi,mpg,mp3,wma,mpeg etc etc).
Supermarkets will flog you a pack of 50 blank DVD's or CD's for pennies.
I even noticed a TV advert for PC World where it boasts about being able to watch a movie and burn a CD at the same time.
Basically the entertainment industry are in conflict with the retail sector but pick on the individual who does nothing more than use the products he has legally bought - its a bit like when cassette players came out.
Cheaper CD's and readily available movies will never stop piracy altogether I admit, but I get annoyed when I hear that some record company has put a 14yr old in the dock but hasn't the balls to have a go at Microsoft, Sony, Currys, Tesco etc
