New and hoping to get answers

Hi there. Welcome to the board and we are glad you are sharing with us.

Although your symtoms do not really sound overwhelmingly like MS symtoms- they do sound like they could be Neurological in nature. You claim you have been dealing with many of these things for quite a few years now- have you seeked any medical advice at all? With a disease like MS, if you choose to ignore it for "quite a few years" you probably would not be in the same condition TODAY that you were in "a few years ago" because it is a progressive disease....then again, not everyone progresses at the same rate.
However, Im wondering about other neurological diseases, Lymes disease, Fibromyalgia, things like that...

My advice, is to seek out a good Neurologist and talk to him/ her about what is going on. If you continue to have episodes like you describe, you will only continue to have more pains and more problems in the future....please let us know if you have had any medical advice or tests performed- that would help us much more.

Sore muscles is NOT a part of MS, just so you know...its a nerve disease, the central nervous system, which is the brain/ spine and eyes...thats why my original thought, that this isnt sounding like MS was stated...anything though, is possible. Im still thinking your symptoms are sounding more and more like Fibro- and there is a fibro board here on Healthboards where you can look for more into on that disease....

Wishing you well...
Nikki

You need to go to the doctor and get some basic bloodwork done (CBC, CMP, urinalysis) along with a check of your blood pressure. These tests cover a very wide range of problems including diabetes and kidney problems, and can help direct you to a treatment that will improve how you are feeling. Waking up a number of times for the toilet, for example, could mean diabetes or a urinary tract infection, or a number of other issues.

The dizziness could also be caused by a number of factors including blood pressure or an inner ear problem. So you have to start somewhere, and the basic bloodwork is a great way!

Good luck!

I too have a balancing problem.Mine is probably age related. It hit me at the same time that my arthritis hit last year. The dizziness came before the balance problem.
I got a prescription from my family doctor to attend re-hab at a local hospital. This consisted mostly in balancing lessons.I concurrently had an incident where my legs went out from under me.That turned out to be a back problem.I brought up my current dizzy problem, and the emergency doctor recommended a motion sickness
pill called Meclizine.I really haven't had dizzy spells since taking it,several months
ago.I still have the balancing problems.I believe that the inner ear mechanism is
interconnected to the balancing system.Monkeying with those two items is very
trickey,I believe. If you lose balancing,a rag doll probably would walk better. Bill
