New "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel" Trailer (Oct 1st)

You know I was about to say "No Chippettes? This trailer is fail" until the "suprise" came up. And I think that song is going to top The Chipmunk movie's "Gettin' Lucky" in terms of creepy factor. :D

Looks to be the same as the first except in high school. Should be fun if anything.

(For some reason, I laughed way too loud when Simon picked up that dodgeball and beaned that guy)

High school? So, they're adolescent chipmunks? Well, I guess animals do age faster than humans. Also, on the old show from the '80s their development level seemed a little unclear. It was clearly elementary school, but they'd have plots about the 'munks trying to impress girls and stuff too.

And implied beastiality.

What?

Someone had to say it.

Actually this movie looks alright. Fairly akin to the 80s Chipmunks cartoon really. I guess that works.

Well, that's been a part of the Chipmunks for a while, though. Like I said, the '80s cartoon always seemed to have plots about the boys trying to impress some girl from their class or something. It always struck me as odd when I was a kid considering the boys were chipmunks and the girls were human, but I let it slide because it was just a cartoon.

I lost interest when the Munkettes did Single Ladies. Of course, I never had any interest in this movie to begin with, so that previous comment was pointless.

In any case, I'm definitely not looking foward to this. They can't just let old franchises go, can they?

You should see what they are doing to Nightmare on Elm Street... That'll really scare you- with how much it'll stink...

AS fr the subject at hand- NO. DEFINITELY NO. Didn't like the first one (never really saw it, glad I never did); and I'm gonna avoid this one like the plague.

A befittng statement IMHO, considering the characters involved here and how in real life these types of animals are jsut swimming in their own filth and disease to us humans.

I'm not saying this to be a nostalgia buff, neither. I didn't like the cartoon as much as a kid (ain't missing it anytime soon). Like I said, it's the movie's fault I even remember this... And how much it stunk out loud from scripting, to characters' casting, and all those annoying stereotypes and music that would make you ashamed to be American... or alive for that matter... Blegh.

No. It was just... really unexpected. I knew they were going to be in the trailer it's just... I didn't expect that song. I'm not saying it's bad or anything it was just... unexpected. lol

It's unexpected to hear Chipmunks characters doing a cover of a recent popular song? Dude, that's what they did all throughout the '80s. I'd kind of be surprised if they didn't use that song or one like it.

Y'know, I've actually found that I often like the Chipmunks versions of songs more than the originals. I mean, I liked Daniel Powter's "Bad Day", but it was just so much cuter hearing the boys sing it at the beginning of the first movie. And now the Chipettes have made "Single Ladies" more tolerable. Never underestimate the power of cute, squeaky voices.

You too? That was part was great for me.

And I think it would be a good idea to see the movie (especially the first one) before passing judgement on it.
