Today I revived a text message on my 8100 from t-mobile. It read;

"Free Msg from T-Mobile: By 3/8/08 go to www dot t-mobile dot com/bbupgrade from your PC to get software for your Pearl 8100 (includes a Daylight Savings patch)"

Has anybody else received this text message?

I got the message today, but when I put in my phone number to get the upgrade, it says not a valid number {which is the number they sent the message to} !!!! Sheesh can't they get anything right.

Are you sure it wasn't a phishing message sent from someone else posing as T-Mobile? Check the sent from number. If it comes from T-Mobile, I can't recall them ever sending a message from a regular phone number or a 5 digit number. All the messages I can recall came from 3 digit numbers.

i got the same message too from the same number.. and i went to t.mobile.com/bbupgrade, and entered my number and it says the same thing. "this is not a valid t-mobile number". i wonder whats happening?

7077 is dirrectly from T Mobile. Sometimes they send out upgrade texts a little late. I got mine 3 months ago. The messages are designed to notify its customers who aren't as up to date as us Stackers, that the upgrade is available if you don't have it already

the link should be t(no dot) mobile.com/bbupgrade

Just spoke with my tech (who is still on T-mobile) said he does recieve 4 digit codes from them so I was mistaken on that part. I just went and checked myself and got the same error message the rest of you have gotten. I wonder if they are uploading new software and have disabled log in for the pearl. I just checked on the 8320 and 8800 as well and got the same message.......hmmmm.....maybe.....hopefully....crosses his fingers and toes.....
