So I just got a new 2010 Honda Civic. When I'm driving I let off of the pedal it seems as though I'm still in gear as the car slows down, like I'm down shifting in a manual. Especially when I'm going like 20 or so MPH and let off the gas it feels like it is jerking me slowly to a stop. It just doesn't seem like a normal thing. It doesn't feel like it's coasting, it is definitely slowing me down. Is this a product of the type of computer controlled transmission or should I have the dealership look at it?
Also It seems to stick in 2nd gear while driving in the city (same kinda problem) in that is slows me down but when I speed up it jerks into gear.
Additional Details
I don't think it's a CVT,
It just says on their website,
"Compact 5-Speed Automatic Transmission"
"Gear Ratios: 1st: 2.666, 2nd: 1.534, 3rd: 1.022, 4th: 0.721, 5th: 0.525, Reverse: 1.957, Final Drive: 4.44"
I also can definitely feel it shifting. When I'm on the highway I can feel it shift down into the gears as they slow me down.
