Never Mind The Buzzcocks - Series 24, Thurdsday 10pm BBC2

Unfortunately it's not a joke. There will be at least one more episode I won't be watching this series, and it's Cordens.

Yeah, I didn't like tonight's much but apparently the series gets better from next week's episode, which I've heard is a very funny one (but I suppose your mileage may vary depending on whether you can tolerate John & Edward - personally I'm quite fond of them). Episodes with Josh Groban, Tim Michin, Frankie Boyle etc coming up too so I think it's worth bearing with for the moment. I think in the long term they do need to settle on a permanent host for the show to survive though, if they can find one.

I know a lot of people on here criticise Noel but I think he does a good job of being captain (I guess it helps that I'm a fan of him generally). He's better when he has someone to bounce off though, like Paul Foot last week.

OH MY GOD!!!! How does that man get work? He must have dodgy photos of all the TV execs I think!

Paul Foot is very funny, saved the show last night.

Noel is just awful, at least based on his Buzzcocks performances and his appearance on MM's Comedy RoaRABhow recenty Just don't get him.

Mark Ronson is just not up to presenting, Even when I have heard him on radio interviews he just sounRAB sooooooo bored.

Jupitus. Just give it up big boy.

I didn't mind tonight's episode, but did anyone else get the impression that Katherine Tate seem to be rushing the proceedings forward not even giving Katy Wix chance to answer her question.

During the final part when giving lines from songs to Tulisa (think that was her name) from N-Dubz songs she says "N-Dubz one of the blinking to albums worth of material" so it is nice that she can't even tell their songs apart :)

So tonight, if Katherine Tate wasn't on I might have enjoyed it more, she has always gotten on my wick slightly, as I personally don't find her funny, she reminRAB me of a petulant child always shouting for attention and plus she created one of the most annoying catchphrases going.

Lets see what happens next week.

Edit: I just read from the Post above that John and Edward are on next week :( if Katherine Tate reminRAB me a child craving attention those two remind me of something much more evil :)

It's Catherine, not Katherine :)

Anyway, while she was pretty poor, I thought the episode was actually not as bad as I was expecting. Noel, again, saved it for me.

I know this is just beeb spiel, but the entire show is scripted, rehearsed and unnaturally forced by the guests from start to finish.

and they have the audacity to label such contrived nonsense as anarchic!

The show is so far from what NMTB started as it's unbelievable. Once satirical and cynical, now it's just a platform for self-indulgent plugging of whichever tat is clogging up the charts this week.

Couldn't exactly see Mark Lamarr letting the likes of Ronson clutter up his show.

I liked Ronson as a guest captain, he was so nervous and trying hard, but very dull as a host.

Thanks for the Neil Hannon reference, was trying to think who Paul Foot remnded me of

He's damn lucky to have the steady work. Saw him recently at King's Head Comedy Night.... total waste of time & money. He was dreadful, came on pissed and slurred on for half an hour with the dullest non-story about Paul McCartney. He spent the whole set name-dropping and boring every paying guest into near unconciousness. Complete waste of (a very large) space. Bill Bailey is well shot - the only one with any actual talent.

PS. Totally agree with Mark Ronson and Noel Fielding comments.... diabolical, at best! If this is a sign of things to come then I'm gonna call time on Buzzcocks.....
