Never Let Me Go

Anyone else excited for this? I've read the novel and despite all its intricacies, I really can't wait to see this. It should be out around September/October here as it'll premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
A cast including Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley should mean the outcome will be a decent film right?!

Ishiguro is one of my favourite writers and Never Let Me Go is definitely in my top 10 books, so yes, I'm really looking forward to its release.

My friend worked on the score and says the film looks excellent (but was shrouded in secrecy, even for him).

I just hope Knightley doesn't ruin it with her damn pouting.

I adored the book, and even though I only half-liked Mark Romanek's previous film (One Hour Photo), the trailer looks very promising.

Romanek has a website on which you can view some of his famous and very brilliant video work, btw.

Im actually interested in reading this book or one of the authors other books When we were orphans. Has anyone read the other book??? How are they???

I started a thread about Ishiguro a while back, but I think it's disappeared into the depths of the Books forum:(

He's one of my favourite authors since studying 'The Remains of the Day' at A-level. 'Never Let Me Go' is probably my favourite of his books so far and I highly recommend his collection of short stories, 'Nocturnes'. Beautiful writing.

I haven't read 'When We Were Orphans' though. I think it'll be next on my list.

When We Were Orphans is certainly worth a read. It's quite rivetting in places, but I found the ending a tad contrived.

His writing is as beautifully clear as ever though, which more than compensates.

Thanks and to Sour Cherry. I've got a 25% off voucher at a book store that I have to spend by monday so I think I will give when we were Orphans a go and If I like it. Never let me go a read aswell.

The film, if there is one should be worth a watch aswell but I would have prefered to read the book before hand.

It's getting good reviews from people who have already seen it and could be a real serious Oscar contender.

They also say to go in and watch the film knowing as very little as possible as they say reading full reviews could spoil the experience.
