Network out of order.

what does this mean?
I'm at work, I have EDGE, I can recieve texts and every now and then for about a half an hour when I send a text I get the messege "Network Out Of Order"
I called about it last night and it cleared up and now it's back.
Anyone know?

Could be network maitenence. Happens a lot. You'll feel it especially if you live in an area where there's not many overlap towers to fall back on.

They check my coverage area last ngith and said I was in a good area and there were no complications on my account and they were gonig to have me go to blackberry support but I didn't have another phone on me.

I do get network not available from time to time, the BB spinning its wheels Searching for Network. It is not just an issue of not being in an area of good coverage, it might also happen that you are inside a building, or you are otherwise shielded by some obstacle.

There is a spot near Beverly Center in west Los Angeles where by walking ten steps I would go from a 2-bar signal to a 4-bar one, and back.

Remember this about text messages, it has nothing to do with the Blackberry, other than being accomplished on your phone. It's all related to the carrier network, not RIM's.

Rcbjr.

it happened last week i was trying to text then when i tried to send it i got a network out of order i tried to call in but they kept saying it was my sim card i on the orther hand have a blackberry 8700 but i can not sms text at all and its not a sim problem because mine is almost new

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i live in Savannah and get that at least once or twice a day and never to the same person.....my other problem is I can't send sms to my friend that has sprint, I can receive them from her, I can also send and receive mms from her.....we have both called our carrier and they can't figure it out. Oh and if I send her an sms it shows it was delivered. Anyone else with this problem?

I've never had problems with SMS in the States, but now that I'm on vacation in Europe I do. I sent an SMS to a friend, it showed up with a check-mark... but she never received it.

SMSs go over data/admin channels, not voice channels, and I don't think there is a mechanism to verify delivery. It can be annoying.
