I 25 years old and have been having a migrane for a week straight went to many doctors and the er. The er did a mri/mra scan and said saw nothing I just dont know how accurate they are and I worry everyday I am going to die from an aneurysm. Does anyone know how accurate these things are.

is there a particular reason that you are actually worried about anuerymsm specifically? like is there ANY family history of annies or other types of vascular malformations someone may have had??
in most cases, if you just DID actually have that MRA which ONLY will look at actual arteries within that brain and nothing else like the soft tissue structures? chances are much more than likely that your brain is clear of anneurysm. they are pretty accureate since like i said, all they show is what looks like a freaking highway map that is just ALL of the main arteries and branches too with nothing to get in the way of viewing them if there? an MRA was the ONLY thing that my still pretty small annie actually showed up on other than that needed angiogram that i had to have once we knew i had one. mine was in an actual bend within an artery so it was also much harder to really even see, esp since it had not even gotten big enough yet to even cause me one bit of headpain yet? all i had as an actual real "symptom' was weird 'heat flushes" that started at the very top middle part of my head, then just kinda flushed down my back of the neck then gone?? no headpain what so ever.
alot too of what any given real possible findings just are or even could be also depends upon the interpretting rad who read your films as well? if you really ahve ANY true doubts here at all, but honestly i DO think this was more than likely okay, seek out a good neurosurgeon or interventional radiologist(the IRs are just the ones who actually DO all angiograms so they KNOW) for a second opinion type of 'read' on your hardfilms? they CAN do this for you too.
if you are actually suffering with esp sudden onset type of headpain, seeing a good neurologist may be your best bet in getting some idea of just what the main underlying trigger may be. or these just easliy 'could' be plain old migrane too which can pop up in anyone, mostly women, at just about any time in their life too? my migranes were inherited from my dads side and actually started when i was only 13? nothing had even been invented yet back then that even touched or actually "aborted the dang freaking headpain yet. that finally occured nine looong years after my very first migrane slammed me. it sucked.
tho i would be pretty assured just given ONLY what MRA truely shows with regards to only arteries that chances are really really good here that you just do NOT actually even have an annie in your brain at all, if you seriously still have ANY real true doubts or you want to know with 100 percent certainty ,just get an angiogram done on your brain hon. that would show without a freaking doubt what so ever if one was actually even there at all? thats just what they DO really show well. but like i said, even my really tiny in an actual bend of an artery annie DID actually show itself upon MRA but NOT the MRI, so that alone should tell you how much really does just get seen upon using an MRA only.
since there just can be oh sooo many real reasons other than vascular malformations that can set off headpain, seeing the neuurologist for his help really may be your best bet here as far as getting some control here and finding what the true generator actually is? did anything at all actually show up in that MRI and did they actually use a contrasting agent too? if you do not yet have your own copies of ALL testing results in your possession, i would very highly suggest you start obtaining anything from here on out and what was just done too just so YOU can actually read thru your own results and you also just have them for your own medical files that quite frankly, anyone should just keep for themselves at home too? they do come in very handy at times, trust me. unfortunetly if any given doc or esp specialists do not simply even know enough with regards to just what certain findings really mean to the patient becasue of lack of experience in "them', ypou may NOT always even get told about very specific findings that can matter much more than any given specialist even has the ability or knowledge enough to fully even understand? went thru this with something very rare that i had been born with inside my spinal cord. just insane what three seperate neurosurgeons gave me as very differeing info on this. very dang scarey there let me tell ya.
but i would seek out a good neuro right now, since this really IS what neurologists really do best, track headpain and treat it appropriately too. i just really DO think given everything that your brain is clear of at least any level of real aneurysm, really. good luck in getting this headpain IDed and treated. please let me know what you find out too? but DO obtain your own copies of both reports and anything else from here. I had a mri-mra w and without contrast done and nothing was there they said I got the report to and says the same thing no annies and no abnormalties of any sort. I schedule and app with a neologist so we'll see what happens I talked to my primary doctor today he said there really accurate and I shouldent worry but for some reason It is stuck my head.

as hard as this just can be when we do have any levels of real fears about things, esp when they involve our brains? i really seriously think that your doc is very right about no annies, mostly becasue of the very in depth types of scans done, esp that MRA and with and without contrast. you had the BEST diagnosistics done for even trying to find these that stated your brain was clear. i seriously feel that that report more than likely was at least probably 98.9 correct? really. knowing just how very small mine still was and actually found ONLY with a non contrasted MRA even(i have to decline contrast becasue of a kidney disease)and mostly where it was in an area where annies are just very hard to detect, esp when smaller in size in the earlier stages, i really do think if anything had been going on within an artery in your brain given the very best types of true diagnostics you had, it would have been at least picked up in SOME possible way.
i do hope this at the very least helped to better ease your mind hon, really. now that this has been ruled out and alot of other things as well given the deeper types of brain scans being done, at least now it gives you time and room for your doc to try other testing or thoughts on what just could be creating this for you. but i wouldn't give a possible annie a second thought at this point. trust me, it HAS simply been scanned with what was simply some of the very best types of diagnosotics to even see or find these and nothing was found. that doc really WAS very very thorough.
