nerve twitching

i had an operation in my mouth an had to get piece of my hip bone taken out an replace in the jaw to form a bone.the doc went through the nerve in my leg.after the OP i had to exercise the leg 2 mths after the nerves in my legs keep on twitching an i dont really have no sensation in the upper part of the leg..is the twitching really comes from the nerve that the doc cut through? cus i was told once one nerve is damage the rest is acts up
