I had a 2nd microdiscectomy on my L5-S1 February 11th and I am still having nerve pain all throughout my back and left leg. I am so fed up! I have taken Lyrica and Lodine for about 2 years and when it is prescribed to me I take Lortab 7.5 and Robaxin. I don't know what to do...I know I am probably being impatient but I can't focus at work through the pain and I feel like I can hardly hold my body up at work b/c my nights are sleepless for the fact that I cannot get comfortable. I keep an ice pack with me at all times to help with the pain, but it only helps so much. I had an epidural last Monday (April 5th) and it helped a little bit, but not like I was hoping. I am also doing PT. I guess my question is, when it comes to the nerve pain the only thing that seems to make it where I can function is the pain meRAB, but I would like to stop taking those b/c I don't want to be dependent on them, but I already take Lyrica and it is supposed to be the best out there for nerve pain, right? I have heard of Neurotin, but I thought Lyrica was better. Is it possible for my body to have either gotten used to the Lyrica over the years or maybe Lyrica just doesn't work for me like it should and I should try something else? I am scared that this nerve pain is going to last forever! It burns so badly all the time and I am becoming so depressed. Sometimes I wonder if it was even worth having these surgeries. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
