Nendoroids (and other figures)

Hi there

I just started to get addicted to these little figures and wanted to know if any of you collect figures or nendoroids
I just made my first preorder at Otacute and already have my little Shana:

they're just too cute imo.

So now, I'm happy if any of you can provide something to this, since I'm really new to collecting Figurines.
 
Well I now have some of the Nendoroid petite of Lucky Star ; L (Death Note) ; Yoko (TTGL) and Miyafuji (Strike Witches - in preparation for the upcoming 2nd season).

However I just can't seem to get a liking to the "real" figurines, maybe with the excaption of BRS ones. But since there's a Nendo upcoming for that too...^^

How come no ones interested in this? Wekk except for imnipresent Animeace

Feel free to post "Lol I dunno what u wanna do with that crappy figures nerd lolol" stuff as long as it's not against the forumrules too.
 
Im not fond of nendos tbh, they sort of take away the whole scaled craftsmanship aspect of what i appreciate about figurines. not too fond of pose-able ones either due to the occasionally chunky, ugly joints. I spend a lot of time with a specific friend looking at pics and talking about good aspects of figurines and stuff, PVC, nendo whatever. I only have a few myself, my 1/7 Dokuro-chan being my most prized (ONLY ONE IN THE COUNTRY BISHHHHHHHHH). I don't take them out of their boxes though. My friend says that's void the point of getting them but i can still look at them through the box and if they were to deteriorate in anyway i would absolutely kill myself. I don't have y'know, great access to them after, this is NZ, not Akihabara lol. My fav crafts company is Kotobukiya and a few figurines i'd die to get my hands on are the swimsuit edition of "Seena" from Shining wind, and the bikini special of Minato Nagase from Akaneiro ni Somaru saka.

Of course, if i were a real pro, and had access to figurines better, i would follow the figure-otaku rule. Buy 4 of everything. One for display, one for use, one as a collectors item, and one as a backup.

I really hope there's some others who appreciate figurines like me on A4, sometimes its hard to see the Cherry behind the stained glass window that is Dub-watching meem-spewing mainstream goers.
 
Lol, I'd like to do that too. I'd start up with some Konatas

Given the access (I'm quite happy with my access thanks to Otacute; Archonia and others - as long as they're not limiteds) I don't have a problem. But my money won't last >.
 
I keep my larger figurines on the top shelf of my computer shelf. They're there side by side in their original cases, out of sunlight so they don't fade.
on the shelf below that i have all my miniatures. Capsule and guess-box ones. got about 20 there of series like Evangelion, Sekirei, etc.

Yeah, i would probably appreciate they way they look more if i took 'em outta thier boxes but like i said i'd hang myself if they got scratched or damaged or anything.

Chatterboxzombie: why don't u get a vitrine (is that the english word?^^) ? That way it's really close to impossible something happens to them.

Am looking for some Seitokai no Ichozon stuff but there's hardy anything out yet >.
 
I always wanted a Tsukasa one. ;(
But I love figma. ^^ I have 3 figures. Winter and summer uniform Tsukasa and winter uniform Konata. woot.
 
I love the way how nendoroid's parts are easily interchangeable with another. The accessories are great and they are really cute. I have around 20 of them so far. I still keep getting more. The sad thing about them is their base, it's so weak and poor that they don't stand too long with them. The only one that I have had the figure stand without falling off is Saber Lily. She's probably the most cutest one aside from the Hachune Miku's face.
 
Honestly, I used to have the same problem. But in fact I often use the bases in a different way than GSC^^ For example my Yoko isn't "catched" around the hip but I put the [dunno how to call it] around her legs where they can be placed tighter and thus she stand very well.
While I do not have the problem of them falling over (I got 8 now and never ever did one of them leave its place on the base^^) I have to put up quite a fight if I want to make pictures (because you have to change the pose and everything). Not to mention when I do pose them extraordinarily they DO keep falling

My biggest issue was with the skirt-bases because obviously you can't use that base differently an it's quite hard to put up the perfect height. But even so Shana keeps standing for example.



About the accessories: Hell yes Shana with Yoko body is hilarious. And Alastor likes her boobies too. I'm going to get more of these too, just because they never get boring (since interchangeble) and the more you have the more variation-possibilities.
 
I got a new boxed figurine a few months ago last time in the city.
Considering this is NZ, this was a very rare find, but that's the fruit of my effort for going into every strange Chinese pirated video store i Find.

I only Just watched Toradora a few months before hand and while Taiga wasnt my fav character shes easily my Fav character ever voiced by Rie Kugimiya. Whats more anything related to Dengeki and ASCII Media Works i am bound by law and fandom to buy.

Still got it in its original box. never gonna take her out.
really nice quality. Came with exchangeable face plates. Gentle smile and Tsundere Sneer.
Also the wooden sword is removable.
