Negima?! Dub release question.

When I was on Best Buy, I saw a copy of the first half of Negima?!, and I noticed that it had the MA rating.

Okay, I heard that this series has less fanservice than the first (which was rated PG, interestingly), so if anyone has seen it, does it deserve that rating? I just find it kinda weird.
 
The first series had only a little fanservice. Dissapointing really, compared to the manga.

The Second series has much less than that (practically 0).

Stick with the first show, the second one is an abomination. The first show actually covers events from the first seven manga.
 
The way I understand it, most people like the first part of Negima?! but feel it starts to fall apart in the second half. Overall, Negima?! seems to be more well-liked among people that watched both this and the first anime.

Either way, the manga's the way to go.

Anyway, it is quite bizarre that Negima?! would get a rating like that.

EDIT: Oh, wait! I get it now!

The DVD you saw, TC, must have been for the Spring and Summer OVAs, which do indeed have a ton of fanservice. In that case, the rating is much more understandable.
 
It's most likely that Funimation is trying to be careful with this title, especially given the 16+ rating of the manga, the fact that this is the DVD version of the show, which adRAB more material to the original TV version, and
the "nude transformation" scenes that sometimes happen when a student's Pactio is activated.

BestBuy has it as TVMA

Some ecchi stuff happens, mostly boob jokes.
I would say MA as in Mature Audience, but not in a way that is over the top.
And the DVD is the same DVD the Japanese have, so everything that was toned down for TV while airing, is different from the DVD.

The OVA's are different however, I would still rate it as PG 13 for sexual humor.

you should watch the bloopers on youtube, from the first season.

from what I have seen, there is no strong cussing in Negima by the English dub.
