Negative Effects of Donating Blood

Hi All,

I am a pretty healthy person with no illnesses that I am aware of, with the exception of being fairly stressed and fatigued recently. Last Wednesday I donated blood for the first time. I ate a big breakfast and donated blood at 8:30am. While I was donating blood I felt a bit queasy but everything well very well.

Ever since I donated blood I am exhausted, sleepy most of the time, have low energy, have chills/sweats and Diarrhea. I've heard that some of these symptoms are sort of normal for first time donors.

Can anybody shed any light on if these are normal symptoms?

Thanks,

Michael

Fatigue is definitely a side effect, happens to me every time. Not so sure about the others.

Keep drinking plenty of water and eating foods high in iron. If this gets any worse or lasts more than a couple of weeks, definitely see a doctor.
