Need Your Thoughts and Opinion on a prom problem?

Ok heres the Situation, Theres a Senior boy whose dating a Junior girl from another school theres proms are on the same night, the boy of course wants to go to his prom because it's his senior prom and is a big deal and the last thing he really gets to do as a high schooler before graduation. The girls school names 8 junior girls to the prom court as Princesses and this girl already got Homecoming attendant earlier this year which there was only 1 spot for out of her whole class and in the case there will be 8 so one would assume it's almost a for sure thing for her to get it. The boy wants her to take her name off the ballot and just go to his senior prom but the girl doesn't want to do so she wants to be a princess with her friends. The boys best friends are going to college far away and to the marine corps so he will not see them for a very long time and this is his one last thing of high school to be with them.The Girl has next year to take the boy to her senior prom and has 2 other dances next year. So whats more important? princess or his senior prom?
