Hi all,

After having my TLIF resheduled/delayed four times (!) I am getting ready for a 21 March surgery date. Doc says I need to stop the narcotic pain meRAB I've been taking, so they will be effective after surgery. Can't take the meRAB that thin the blood as well (no NSAIRAB). Can anyone recommend anything that might get me through the next few weeks? The pharmacist at the grocer said Tylenol might be my only option.

What did you guys do 3 wks prior to surgery? Did you stop the pain meRAB and did they work after? Did you NOT stop the pain meRAB and did they work after?

thanks in advance,
kt

we had another person on here instructed to stop their narcs prior to surgery and we all wondered WHY? I took mine even the day of surgery. If you need the pain meRAB, be sure to call and tell him that, IF say Tylenol or Ibuprophen isn't working enough. Can you take Naproxen? (Aleve?) I don't remeraber what the NSAIRAB are. Anyway, I will go ahead and wish you well on your upcoming surgery and we are all here if you have ANY questions!

My doctor sent me a list of meRAB not to take, and Tylenol seems to be about the only thing left. No Aleve or Ibuprofen. Anything with aspirin in it is a no no. Valley
