Need some php help run a website not sure if i can use php for it or not?

My Friend and I run a development website called devteamsn.com,the forum uses phpbb and we wanted to know if we could make it so that the home page outside of the forum (/forum) as well as the recent/comming updates page also outside the forum,if we could make it so we could manage the two pages through the ACP of PHPBB or if someone could help us make a ACP script to manage both the home page and the updates page
