Need some info/opinions on a Honda Fit, please?

I'm thinking of buying a Honda Fit (Sport, since it comes with cruise control). I would really like to know from people who own one and such, have you had any major problems with them, if so what? Another thing is does it have pretty good pick up and go? How is the gas mileage? I ask this because it is one of the main reasons I really need a new car, the one I have now basically eats gas. Please help me out if you can, thanks.

I just bought a honda fit 3 months ago (unfortunately i was caught in a BAD hailstorm in MN so now it's in the body shop) and i LOVE it. It's gets great mileage (around 26 pure city driving, stop and go, 38 pure freeway driving no stop and go). No problems so far, gets good pickup, haven't noticed any problems with competing with freeway traffic or anything. Another thing i love is that it is tiny, but you can fit a TON of stuff in there (i brought home 6 LARGE potted plants, 2 full size rugs, and some misc boxes and still had room to spare). It's a fabulous little car (i have the sport one too, definitely worth it) and I absolutely adore mine. I highly recommend it, and hondas last FOREVER (my last honda was at 230,000 miles and still running). Definitely a good buy!
 
Looked at both Fit and Yaris, picked a Toyota Yaris S sedan. Cost less doesn't feel as small. I'd have picked a Corolla S but I already have one I Love. 55000 miles and nothing has gone wrong at all.
