This is basic pay, it does not take in account for pay for food which is about 280 and your basic allowance for housing, which depends on where you are stationed and your rank.

Yep. Hope u didnt think u were gonna get rich in the military. Those ffigures are for enlisted. Officers make more.

To piggyback on the first answer, yes it is your monthly pay.
You'll probably start as an E-1 (unless you have college credits).
You'll earn that pay while in Basic Training as well.

yes, those are monthly basic pay rates...the rank is down the left side and time-in-service across the top...and that's only basic pay...doesn't include subsistence, housing, etc.
