My son was riding his go kart the other day, and it stopped running. Since then, we have not been able to get it to start. There is spark. I took off the carburator and cleaned it. Still nothing. If I spray some starting fluid into the carb or spark plug, it still does not even try to start. I tested the compression...it is about 95psi. Took off the head cover, and noticed a spot where I can see that it got pretty hot, (burned mark...and possibly even a small crack?) But, when I pull on the cord, the valve springs and the push rods move freely. Where do I go from here? I dont understand why it isnt starting...is the compression too low? Any ideas would be appreciated....Please answer asap...my son is getting antsy....
The flywheel seems to be fine. There is resistance when turning the flywheel, so I think it is fine, any other way to check that?
