Need some help on what to do with my shitty dealer!

Alright, a few backpoints and opinions....

1)I didn't like my saleman, but he was the one guy that knew his ass from his elbow, I walked in wearing my workboots and dirty work jeans, so I wasn't really worth his time.

2)I ended up buying a used bike... got what I thought was a good deal, only to end up later finding out Via this board, that it wasn't such a great deal but thats besides the point... It had tipped over in the previous owners garage, so it had a couples scrapes on the fairings...

3)Bought the bike july 25th-26th don't remember which, it was a saturday, So My Dealer Put a plate on it and gave me my temp registration good for 45 days.

4)My 45 days is 3 days from being up and I called and bitched and got another temp sent out that day

5)My Temp registration (#2!!) expired two days ago! My bike still according to DMV doesn't belong to me...

Should I bring my bike back to my dealer and tell them to stick it and then find another (better) deal? or try to get some free shit from my dealer? or any other possibilities that I haven't thought of?
The entire deal pisses me off, but the next closest dealer is a few states away so I figured that I try them dispite the things I had heard, now I know!... I've already contacted an attorney friend of mine to get her help on the matter...
 
From my limited experience with these cases, if you take it back they will charge you for miles etc... even if they are fucked up. Never seen this work out well. Get the DMV involved, ask them to solicit the registration from the dealer, that has worked for me twice now.

But seriously, isn't it the dealers job to get your shit registered?!? What kind of place is that?

Have you asked the manager why is there such a problem with getting the bike registered? Just to keep giving someone a temp registration seems fishy to me

I say you go talk to the dealership's big dog and if that doesn't work, I say get DMV and some legal personnel involved. That shit is ridiculous.

I agree with everyones input so far...

To add to this, I believe, if you financed the bike and the dealer found the lending institute, I think you could call the lender and have them put pressure on the dealer as well...I say this because, when a dealer finds the customer a lender, the dealer gets a "kick back"...usually around .25% of the APR, up to whatever they think they can get away with...so in actuality, there's whats called a "buy rate", which is what the lender was willing to give the purchaser, but the dealer adds his cut on top and quotes the purchaser a highr rate...once accepted buy the purchaser, the lender sends the dealer the difference in the form of a commission or finders fee per say...so yes, you can have the lender involved as well.

This has been going on way too long and is completely unacceptable...I think the more pressure you put on these guys from ALL directions, the quicker they will react in resolving your problem...dealers need to maintain good relationships with lenders, DMV, insurance companies ect...to be competitive and efficient in their services...

so I called my dealer and tried to get ahold of the owner, and got nowhere with that... not being satisfied talking to nobody I got my salesman again, and Told him I still hadn't received my registration yet, and he was kinda shocked.... He seemed to understand my frustration with the situation, and assured me that the bike does in fact have a clear title. He called me back after chasing down paperwork and DMV has the correct papertrail, but it has yet to be processed by them yet, My saleman told me that when he recieves it I will get a phone call and can come down and get it, or he will mail it out straight away.... he said sometime next week it should be in hand... If it is not in fact, in my hands by the end of next week, I will not be making another call... my attorney will, which should hopefully get the ball rolling, and maybe even get me some free stuff after the aggravation of the matter.

Nothing says I love you like a severed body part in a box FedExed to her. Maybe she's waiting for you and it's just an over zealous security team that's keeping you apart. Don't let some rentacops with mail order tasers stand in your way!

Use your dealer's business card as the return address on the FedExed box, then call the dealer to send the service van to her address to pick up your bike. Might kill two birds with one stone.
 
After calling My salesman again.. he told me he would call me the day he got it from DMV I got that call on monday... finally recieved my registration today... although I did not threaten any legal action, the thought hasn't totally escaped me to to that just yet... for all the "Last few nices day of riding season that I couldn't ride because my bike wasn't legal thanks to you guys." to see if I can score something free...
