Hi guys. I hurt my lower back this past Saturday putting Christmas decorations away. I didn't think it was that bad tho, so we had to bowl that night and things were a little rough but still not that bad. Took some advil that night and slept well. Woke up Sunday morning felt a little stiff but that was about it. I had to also bowl that morning with my son in a tournament. Well after the 2nd game I could hardly throw the ball down the lane. We had to bowl 3 games so I made it thru them all. Needless to say that night the pain in my lower back was sooo bad, I couldn't even walk. Monday was the same way. I saw my PCP on Monday and he said it was just a back strain. Well here it is Thursday and nothing he gave me has worked, the muscle relaxers or the pain killers. I still can hardly walk, the pain is still very strong, especially when i try to get up, and forget about going into or getting out of a car. The pain is very sharp and sometimes goes into my hips and the top of my thighs. The only time the pain is gone is when I lay on my side. I have had a history of back trouble, but its always been "back Strain". When I was 12 jumped off a trampoline landed what seemed normal, but within 5 minutes couldn't walk, then again at 16 while playing football got hit hard, same thing, then around 25 felt a pop in my back, same thing, then just minor problems since then till now(all the same pain area). Can this really just be a back sprain, or maybe some problems with the disc and stuff. I think its time for either an x-ray or MRI, but for some reason he doesn't feel that it is necessary. What do you guys think? I am a healthy(except for bad back) 44 yr old active guy and I hate just sitting around.
