OK since 1994 I've had the business name Julie's Dolls & Things.
When I first started out, I only made dolls, cloth dolls, mostly and Barbie clothes. Then I wanted to start accessorizing them, so I started doing doll bibs and doll blankets.
Then I got into quilting because of the doll blankets and then expanded into doing machine embroidery, which then was mostly on baby items like baby bibs, onesies, burp cloths, etc.
I've expanded the embroidery to towels, bath mats, toilet paper-my current best seller and zipper bags, tote bags, etc.
I want to do more baby clothes than I have, because the onsies just don't seem to move or much of anything else that I've done, though I know it could be location. I'd also like to expand into little girl's dresses and skirts. I get frustrated looking for them for my girls and there is very little out there I like, so why not do my own, and incorporate embroidery into them of course too!
We're military and at all the bases prior to where we are now, things sold really really well!
Well, we're about to relocate again, this time to Biloxi, MS.
So what I'm wanting to do is change my name. I'm considering just a simple change by changing "things" to "embroidery", making it Julie's Dolls & Embroidery. I still plan on doing cloth dolls, but sticking with baby doll type cloth dolls and expanding the doll clothes line.
I've done searches online and there's a lot of ideas that are already taken.
Simple things like Julie's Embroidery, Julie's Creations, and swapped versions like Creations By Julie, Embroidery by Julie, etc. You get the idea. Search before you submit your idea..probably taken. I really want to avoid the name Creations. I think it's overused! My mother inlaw's business is Casey Creations.
I think I'm going to have to be really unique, or go with my original tweak. I also thought of Julie's Jambalaya, but that sounds like a restaurant! HAHA! I also considered the idea of Casey's Kids. I think that would work if I only did children's clothes but as I've listed, I do more than that.
Thanks for your help!
