Need Serious Help! my daughters 2003 dodge neon quit on her?

She thought it ran out of gas, but it still will not crank after putting gas in it. Bought a coil pak and a crank sensor and put on it. That did not fix it. It is getting fire and gas, but still will not crank. Is turning over and it back fired through the breather a couple of times while trying to crank the car. Thanks for any help.
I mean trying to turn over.

You say it will not crank but, you say it turns over? Turning over is cranking.

Have the fuel filter and fuel pump checked.

i would say your timing belt may have jumped and is throwing everything off. hope it helps good luck.
