Need recommendation for a fully functional small phone.

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I've had a few phones and although all of them uniquely different none have completely met my standards.

Things I would adore in a phone-
1. Reception/Service
2. Small- I want it to be able to fit in the back pocket of my jeans in case I go out to a club, not so much "small" as "thin" is more important.
3. I want it to replace my PDA, I realized I don't use my PDA as much as I should because I don't like to carry it around and the only thing I really care about is it syncing with Outlook for appointment planning or a similar program
4. I would like to be able to put some sort of memory stick card to store songs, I'm not a huge audiofile but would also like to replace my MP3 player since I also don't carry it around because I don't like carrying more than one electronic
5. Price- I'm not looking to spend more than 500-600
6. I'm not partial to either a candybar style phone or a flip phone.. I like either
7. I think it's standard now but any camera will do just fine, if it doesn't have one no big loss.
8. Cute? That DOES NOT mean pink...ahhh. Is that too much to ask for.. haha no, if it's cute the phone gets bonus points!
9. GSM network- Cingular in Texas if it matters.

Phones I myself have researched and like- Qtek 8500, although not too cute, it's practically perfect... but I hear there was a problem with it not recieving calls? WTF.

I like the N series of the Nokia phones and the Sony Ericsson K610i but I know those won't meet my Pocket Windows 5 standard... but maybe there are other options with this phones? Software I can buy/download?

Well for the beginig I recomand you a Nokia 6230i with card of 512MB,etc....
It is small, nice, very performant, and has some business instructions!

Otherwise I would recomand you an Series 60 phone .....
 
Thank you very much for responding! Hmm, I haven't really looked into those what program would I use to sync with a computer program that I could type all my appointments into?

128mb card, 64mb intern, 2mpx, very THIN!!
 
Yeah, the motorola would have been perfect but I'm really sticking to wanting PDA functions. Even anything I can download to help sync my computer and my phone. I'm a really busy individual... with clubs, hobbies, grad school coming up, appointments, interviews, deadlines... originally why I got the PDA. However, I don't like carrying a bazillion electronics... I don't exactly have pockets and I really don't want to be a mugger's idea of bliss. It sucks to be listening to your mp3 player and pull out your PDA on the bus.

I'm attatched to my computer and like inputing info on my comptuer and being able to sync and carry it everywhere on a phone. I think any kind of smart phone will do me well...I just need to know if I'm overlooking anything... my boyfriend has the Qtek 8310 which is why I fell in love with the functionality of his...

I guess I can wait til the phone I want becomes mainstream for Cingular and they will have to fix the missed calls problem. I don't NEED a phone until August when school starts.
 
Ok, if your wanting a phone that has good reception,your first act is you need to drop Cingular. Ive had Cingular,T-Mobile,and Verizon and Verizon has been hands down the best. Cingular gets HORRIBLE reception and ive had nothing but problems with T-Mobile. And as far as what your wanting in a phone, the Motorola Q sounds exactly like what your looking for. It has the features of a PDA but the style of a regular phone. And its very thin just like you want, it will fit in your back pocket. And it will play all your music you put on your phone or a memory card that you can put in the phones slot. Hope its the right phone
 
The moto Q is thin, but not thin enough to fit in a back pocket and not get damaged. I would go for the razr V3i becuase its a flip, looks cool, metal so u wont ruin it if u sit on it, mp3 player, you can check your emails (tho a bit slow) and probably more.
 
V3x is NOT thin. It's close to 20mm, normal razrs are only 14 or so.

And cingular doesn't always get bad reception, depends on where you live with which phone. I use a w810 and v3i in California, full bars wherever I go. I have not had one problem dropping calls and such.
