Kind of depends on your timeframe. Is that line it for your account or do you possibly have others that might qualify for a new contract? It sounds like you bought the phone as a single brand new account. If you bought in store you can try calling that store, if you aren't far past the 30 day mark to ask if they will do an exchange given that the droid has been out less than 30 days. CostCo allows 90 day return/exchange on electronics also, just in case you got it there.
I am not sure how much you could sell that baby for on eBay. The Droid is only $560 without a contract.
There is a lost & damaged phone program you could take advantage of. If you call and don't have another option for replacing it, with something like water damage on your phone, it basically gives you access to a 1 year discounted price on the device without having to buy out. There isn't a verification of the damage or a requirement to return the device. I've used it to replace a phone that got water damaged and was working alright but was shutting itself off a lot as a result of the corrosion. The droid is $269 on the 1 year price. I think that might be after $100 rebate. So that option looks like a good thing to try.
