I am not very expert but still I am to make a School Management system Application with PHP and MySQL. Above all requirements one particular matter that is really giving me stress is student attendance module. The plan is student will give their attendance through bar-code reader and it will be saved in the database. Now my problem is if one is using the application for student management or account management and at the same time a student hits the bar-code reader to give attendance, how to insert that into the database without hampering the work of that particular application user. And would you please give me some idea/suggestion on how to make this web application?

here I should mention that the organization for which I am developing the application is not very big and hence they have only one pc and no server. I plan to install XAMPP server on it and the application will be running on that pc.
